Earlier this week, I stumbled upon a great traffic source which I’d previously never heard of – “Infolinks“.
I’d seen it “in action” on other people’s websites before, but never thought anything of it – until I saw some of the results which it was getting a few of my friends in the industry.
So I decided to try it out for myself…
Infolinks is a service which content publishers (e.g. bloggers, article websites, etc) use to earn money from their content.
When set up, it underlines phrases within their content, and when hovered over, it provides text advertisements based on that specific phrase / keyword. You can see a live example on their homepage.
The publishers (content owners) earn money when someone clicks on the advertisements. So really, it’s similar (but slightly different) to Google AdSense.
From an advertiser perspective (that’s us!), our website and text can be shown in these advertisements, for whatever keyword(s) we choose to bid on. Then, whenever a visitor clicks on our advertisement, we pay a small fee in return for the traffic.
So in other words, it’s a pay-per-click traffic source, similar to Google AdWords – but without the huge amount of advertiser guidelines.
There aren’t any upfront costs (so you only pay after you receive the traffic), and this can be used with any niche.
I set up my account on July 24th (4 days ago), and started my campaign just targeting the United States, with popular 10 keywords.
Here’s what I achieved…
That’s 40 clicks (as I started small), costing me $14, giving me an average Cost Per Click of $0.35 – which is a lower price than most solo ads.
Plus, yes – you’re seeing that right – I made $389.00 in total sales, giving me a whopping $375.00 Net Profit.
Not bad from taking 15 minutes to set it up, right? 🙂
Also, here’s some proof of the sales from just one of the places where I earned commissions from…
And that amount is actually doubled, as I was promoting my own coaching program through an affiliate account.
I don’t know about you – but I’d gladly invest $14 to make $389 any day!
Obviously these results are not typical, but are exactly what I’ve found from trying out this super-targeted traffic source.
After this successful start, I’ve just added a ton more keywords to my campaign, and have added more English-speaking countries to my targeting.
Time to scale it up!
Although we’re still in early stages, from first impressions, it’s a great new, targeted traffic source – and I’ll definitely be scaling it upwards over the next few weeks to generate even more traffic.
I strongly recommend giving it a try, and seeing how it works for you.
You can get started by visiting this page (not an affiliate link).
As soon as you create your account, it’ll guide you through the entire process, all step-by-step.
Let me know how it works for you 🙂
